That fuzzy feeling

I can't believe it is the end of the school year already! Where has the time gone! Yes the last couple of terms have been very different to the norm and in some cases people have found it extremely difficult. Initially I lost quite a few students as some had been due to sit GCSEs this year whilst others just weren't sure about how things would pan out and were perhaps wary of online tutoring.

I'm happy to say that little by little work has picked up and I'm feeling much more confident about the future. I have a good set up now although I will be investing in a new computer and screen next term to help these tired old eyes (you know the moment you're looking for your glasses and realise you're wearing them).

I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing my students and helping them make progress in these difficult times. We've played games a lot of the time - educational ones of course - and I've proved yet again that I won't give in easily :-). I've had some lovely feedback over the last few weeks. It's great to hear children 'look forward' to my lessons and say they have enjoyed them. I was sent a copy of a student's report where it mentioned he had taught the rest of the class the KFC method I had shown him! For information, this has absolutely nothing to do with deep fried chicken :-).

It is great to feel valued and although teaching is definitely not about the glory, you can't help feeling 'warm and fuzzy' when you receive lovely messages. This made me realise how important it is to show appreciation to the people around us for the things they do, especially the little things that we all take for granted.
